When people fall asleep, their souls awaken. And when their dreams slowly take shape, their journey begins. In the dead of night Alma’s soul awakes. She sees the mask prints still lingering on Alma's sleeping face, muscles cramped from a long shift at the hospital and a tear, trailing from her cheek onto the pillow. She feels Alma's longing. The longing for her mother's touch. A comforting hug or an encouraging pat on the back. She knows what to do and goes out to chase the strings that bind them. In collaboration with a team of film makers Studio Figur brings you Only Strings Apart, a poetic live-cinema performance without words. Taking you on a journey to find consolation without physical contact. A visual and cinematic tale with actors, puppets, miniature worlds and music that you can experience online, from the comfort of your own home.
